A Full Reset for the J.Uno Yacht

J.Uno is a Cranchi Atlantic 43 built for comfort, range, and charter performance. Years of operation in Dubai had spread wear across every major system. Hull fouling was dragging fuel costs up. The propeller shaft had shifted out of alignment. Stainless fittings had dulled under salt exposure, and the interior no longer matched the vessel J.Uno was built to be. Her owner brought her to Alfa Trust for a full refit.

Assessment & Scope

Collected and transported to our facility in Dubai, our work on J.Uno began with a full vessel inspection. We identified marine fouling across the hull, measurable propeller shaft misalignment, corroded stainless steel throughout the deck, and interior surfaces worn beyond serviceable condition. Inside, upholstery, carpets, woodwork, kitchen finishes were all in need of an upgrade.

Hull Cleaning

J.Uno’s hull had accumulated marine growth over her many character voyages, increasing drag and pushing fuel consumption higher with every trip. Our team removed the fouling using high-pressure water cleaning, stripping the surface back to a prepared base.

Antifouling was applied by hand across the hull. The coating system inhibits organism reattachment between dry-dock cycles, keeping the hull cleaner for longer and reducing the frequency of major hull work. For a charter yacht, that protection means fewer haul-outs, less downtime, and better fuel economy across the year.

Exterior Restoration

With the hull treated, we moved topside. J.Uno received a full repaint and polish from bow to stern, each panel prepared, painted, and finished to a high-gloss result. The sealed finish protects against salt and UV damage and restores her impression charter-ready aesthetic.

Salt exposure had stripped the finish from J.Uno’s stainless steel fittings and hardware. Each piece was polished by hand, restoring the chromium oxide layer that protects against corrosion.

Alignment and Coating

Propeller shaft misalignment had introduced vibration into J.Uno’s running, placing unnecessary load on the drivetrain. Left unchecked, this accelerates wear on components costly to service at sea. So our engineers realigned the shaft to specification.

The propeller was then treated with Prop Speed antifouling coating, built specifically for running gear. Prop Speed limits marine growth between service intervals, maintaining J.Uno’s running efficiency.

Full Interior Refit

The interior was the largest phase of J.Uno’s restoration. Salon and cabin seating was stripped and reupholstered using marine-grade leather and high-density foam. New carpets were installed vessel-wide, while wall panels were refitted with premium vinyl.

We converted kitchen surfaces and the exterior sink marble to Corian for better moisture resistance. Her teakwood floors were sanded, chemically washed, and oil-finished to recover the rich grain. We then created bespoke bed covers for both bedrooms.

Charter-Ready Return

J.Uno’s wiring, fixtures, and lighting were reviewed and renewed throughout the vessel. New signage was designed, produced, and applied in-house at our Dubai facility. CDEK was installed, and every element reviewed against the original scope before sign-off.

Today, J.Uno is back on the water with a protected hull, refinished exterior, realigned running gear, and a fully restored interior. Every system and surface from the initial assessment was addressed and perfected by our team here at Alfa Trust.
